pear & gorgonzola tarts

looking for an easy, yummy starter or brunch item? this pulls together a couple commonly paired ingredients: pear, gorgonzola and honey.

it’s easy enough to put together at a friends or just before your friends/guests come over.

pear & gorgonzola tart

make 18 tarts


  • 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
  • 6 oz. gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • 2 pears, peeled & sliced thinly
  • ground pepper
  • honey


preheat an oven to 425 degrees F. line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

on a cutting board or clean work surface, lay the both sheets of pastry flat and cut each sheet into 9 small squares, 18 total. place the squares onto the parchment paper and prick lightly all over with a fork.

spoon a tablespoon of gorgonzola crumbles in the middle of the square and top with 2 slices of pear. make sure to leave a 1/2 inch border. grind a bit of pepper over each tart.

place baking sheets into the middle of the oven. cook for up to 20 minutes, turning the baking sheets halfway through. bake until the edges are golden, the cheese is melted and the pear is hot.

place the tarts on a serving platter and drizzle with honey. serve warm.
