there’s nothing quite like the smell of the grill. sitting outside avoiding the smoke on a chilly, fall evening.
last weekend was just like that. and nothing quite beats grilling some steak and some ribs. since, in my opinion, everyone deserves a home-cooked meal for their birthday, we grilled up a bunch of meat paired with mashed potatoes & greek salad for a lucky boy turning 27.
with ribs, the key is to cook them slowly in the oven until they want to fall off the bone, then smother them in sauce and throw ’em on the grill. here is my mom’s fool-proof recipe for ribs.
- rack of pork baby back ribs
- your favorite BBQ sauce
- tin foil
preheat the oven to 350F.
rinse the ribs in water & pat them dry with a paper towel. wrap the ribs tightly with tin foil so there is nothing peaking out and no air can get in. AIR TIGHT! (i used a few sheets)
cook the ribs in the oven for 90 minutes.meanwhile, start up the grill, if you’re using charcoal.
remove the ribs from the tin foil and discard the juices. smother the ribs in your sauce and a little drizzle of honey.
cook the ribs on the grill for an additional 20 mins.
serve with more sauce!
